From tracking international and domestic terrorism threats to crafting detailed intelligence reports, Heather’s expertise is a testament to the critical role analysts play in keeping our communities safe.
The Old Way: A Labor of Love (and Frustration)
Heather’s passion for report writing is rare and commendable. While many of us might cringe at the thought of endless drafts and revisions, Heather thrived on it. Her proactive approach at the Fusion Center involved creating reports based on her own observations, whether it was ISIS targeting critical infrastructure or other emerging threats.
The process was anything but straightforward. Heather had to determine the type of report, its objective, and the audience—all while ensuring the content was relevant to a diverse range of partners, from law enforcement to the private sector. Collaboration was key, but so was the ability to work independently and produce high-quality reports under tight deadlines.
